Every winter I have been thinking about installing the remote start system on my 99 Exp (Those leather seats awefully cold!!). Just wondering if anyone has done this, and if so, had any advice to offer. I think that the "computer-chipped" key could be an issue... Just wondering what's all involved, and any recommendations as to which system to use...

It's not a problem, particularly if you find a good installer. I have had a remote start system operate flawlessly in my 1999 since October 1998. You may need to bring all ignition keys to the installer, be sure to ask.

PS: Ford has finally gotten around to offering a remote start system as a dealer installed accessory. I think it is a Code Alarm brand system.
