New 5.4 3-valve in Expy?
New 5.4 3-valve in Expy?
I guess we're all assuming that the Expy will get the new motor around the same time that the new F150 hits the streets, huh? Has anyone heard any different? Just seems logical.

That was the word, however, marketing is as marketing does.
Do you think Ford would keep the Navigator with the 300HP 32v Intech as is while they come out with a 3v 5.4 that is said to be rated in the 310 HP range?
I'm not so sure. I want to see how they plan to do it....

Right, the word is the Expy's get them for 04, but as already said marketing is ???? I wouldn't discount the possibility that they may not appear in the first production of the 04's. They are apparently already on the road in Australia in the 'Falcon', whatever that is.
Don't give Lincoln too much credit-
They just might let the Expy have more HP. After all, the Expy has a more utilitarian look & feel than does the Navigator, which is luxury, no matter how you slice it..... That isn't a bad thing.
Also, more HP doesn't always mean faster/quicker either. It's all about gearing....
Plus, Lincoln has the Aviator, with the 4.6L V-8, pumping out 302 HP- That's a smaller, quicker, more powerful yet slightly cheaper version of the Navigator. Why they did that, I'll never know... Can you say- Self-Cannibalize?
That would be like bringing back the Mercury Capri, as a Mustang Clone, with the supercharged cobra engine standard, for the price of a Mustang GT. Slightly different, but very similiar.
