I have pushed on the brake and the go pedal at the same time before and have had this happen.

Yes, if you have a BIG FOOT. I heard this before and that is not the answers I'm looking for. I know for sure and so does my wife. That we didn't have one foot on the brake and the gas pedal at the same time. So in the future, the poeple with answers like this. Please not respond.
I will be use this for legal advice. Because ford has to do something about this. Before someone gets killed.
Thanks

I fail to see any connection between stepping on the brake pedal and having the engine RPM increase. I have never heard of this happening on any of the Expedition boards or mailing lists. If you are planning on using anything posted on this board as a basis for legal advice or action, I doubt that it would fly. It would probably be considered hear say.

Big foot?If size 10 is big then OK. I was just offering my 2 cents.
Lighten up Francis. You go save the world by suing Ford.

Sounds like what happens when you take your foot off the brake.

Blue:
unfortunately it happens WHILE the foot is on the brake.
gotta be intentionally careful not to snug up behind someone at a stop light.

G.Andrews, I'm confused about your problem. How can the vehicle move forward when the brake is applied?

I've melted tires while braking and gassing at the same time (not in my Expy of coarse) and not moved an inch.

It was demonstrated during the great Audi unintentional acceleration debacle that it was impossible for engine power to override a functional, fully applied braking system. In other words, if your brakes are working properly and you have them fully applied, the car WILL NOT MOVE regardless of how hard you step on the gas. How do you think burnouts are accomplished? With the brakes fully applied, the rear tires will break loose, but the front brakes have enough stopping ability to keep the car from moving. The front brakes in modern vehicles provide the great majority of the braking power. That is one reason why front brakes usually wear out first and the rears look brand new.

You either have a faulty braking system or you are unconsciously letting up on the brakes at stop lights..

Maybe you all should report this "problem" to the NHTSA.

FYI, my faulty IAC valve caused my RPM's to fluctuate tremendously and it was most noticeable when I was stopped at a traffic light. My idle RPM would sometimes be well over 1,000. Could this be the same problem? If so, replace the IAC valve and the problem will be solved.

G.A.- have you reported it to the dealer? or filed a report with NHTSA. If not Please do.

Buck- I myself have a size 10. That is not the problem. I don't think I will save the world from suing Ford, but I will get my problem solved. Also I foot wasn't lightly pressed on the brake. This is a machine and they do have problems.

Blue- I have file two reports to the NHTSA.

jimm- The RPM's only rev up when the brake is applied.
