no, i havent filed a report with NHTSA.
its going to the "stealership" to get some warranty work done on it in the next couple of weeks, so i will have them look at it then.
its done the "power jump" thing probably 4 or 5 times in the 18mo that i have had it.
is a truly random occurence.

I suggest you carefully re-read the posts regarding the fact that you cannot defeat a properly operating brake system regardless of how hard you mash the acclerator pedal.

jimm- The RPM's only rev up when the brake is applied. [/B]
Is it possible when the brake is applied, say at a stop, that is the only time you notice the higher RPM's? I ask, because when driving, especially around town, the RPM's fluctuate so much it is hard to tell where the "idle" might be. But once you stop, i.e. "brake applied" you feel and notice higher RPM's.

Regardless, either have the dealer replace the IAC valve or do it yourself. They only cost $45 from fordpartsonline.com or around $65 at local dealerships.

Yes, only when I press the brake the RPM's rev. It never did it just driving around.

Have them check your brake booster/related vac connections. If the booster diaphram or vac connections are faulty, the engine coulkd suck excess air creating a lean run condition and increased RPM.
