do a search on Navigator, navi, gator, moldings, molding, window, windows. you should come up with alot of articles about doing this. I dont know if your truck is still under warranty, but when mine started to fade and get rough to the touch the dealer replaced mine under warranty. I have also read some posts about people sanding them down and painting them, but you just have to repaint them every six months or so.

I had mine replaced by Ford while in warranty. They've lasted much better than the original!!!! I think someone said they were only about $40

I also got sick of lookin at that nasty a$s window trim! I went to ford and bought a set of Navigator chrome window trim. I also replaced the black mirror cover's with the chrome mirror cover's. I spent $175.00 for four chrome windoe trim's and 2 chrome mirror backing's. The truck look's incredible now. Only thing I have to get rid of now is the ugly brown Eddie Bauer trim.

No, To install them all you have to do is pull up on them. One of them was kinda hard to take off, so I stuck a string underneath is and just yanked it upwards. Takes no longer than 15 minutes to do all four window's. With just that simple replacement it look's like a whole new car now. Buy them, you'll thank me later... :P

go to a lincoln parts counter and ask them.
you will need left and right sides for front and rear doors.
should be about 130-150 for the full set.

I have the part number's in my truck but my truck is gonna be at the shop for about a week and a half more. I went to the ford dealer to get them. Just tell the parts guy you want the chrome trim for the Navigator.

I'm just gonna get the stock bumper put back on, but instead of the beige trim I'm having them paint it black. I looked all over ebay for the 98 lightning style bumper but couldn't find it. It would have taken to long to get the bumper shipped to me and preped and painted anyways. I still plan on changing the front bumper but not anytime soon.

thought you might appreciate this link. This guy did the same thing to his black EB. IMO, this is one of the best looking Expeditions i have seen to date.

Mojado,

Painting the beige trim will definitely make your ride stand out. Before I bought my Navigator, I was looking to purchase a 99 Roush Expedition that had all of the trim painted to match with a Stillen front bumper cover and a Stiller rear roll pan all color matched. It looked awesome. Once you do this, you might want to consider putting your black mirror covers back on to give it a stealth look.

Unless you're into chrome, the quickest and cheapest way to fix the window trim problem is with black Turtle Wax. Apply a couple of coats at first and re-apply everytime you wax your vehicle. The black Turtle Wax does a great job on the trim but is a lousy wax for the rest of the vehicle. Do a Turtle Wax search and you'll see others have gone this route with success.
