Hey guys, 2000 expy. The 4wd lights on the dash blink on and off 5 or 6 times in a row while driving and 4wd won't engage. I'm not sure if it is trying to blink a code or not. Does anybody have any ideas? Possibly a problem with the motor on the transfer case? How do i test the various components of this 4wd system?

I have the same problem with my '98. In addition the light jumps back and forth between 4X4 and A4wd. I seem to remember others having the same problem. If you figure it out please let me know. One of the solutions I heard was a Transfer case flush because metal shavings get on a sensor causing it to give false readings.
