Question Have you had these problems?

I have run into many people that have previously owned an Expedition and have complained about numerous tranny problems etc. Well this past weekend I saw my father-in-law for the first time in a couple of months. He owns a 97 Exp, Eddie Bauer 4X4, yada, yada, yada. Well lemme tell you something, it looked like he just got done runing the Baja 100O in that thing. The rear window was missing, the front bumper cover was cracked, and it shifted like it had cement in the tranny. When I asked about the rear window, he told me it just fell out. I was like..."what?!" then he showed me where the bolts that hold the hinges for the window sure as sh-- had rusted right out!

Has anyone else seen this? What about the tranny problem? Has anyone had problems with theirs? I have a 97 XLT (a.k.a. the Eddie Munster Edition) that I've owned for almost two years now and haven't had a single problem yet.

Went through a complete rebuild at 36K. Started with a screwed up torque converter. So far so good.
