KC lights and where to mount them?

I want to get some kc lights to help light up rural roads where I sometimes travel. Where should I mount them? I don't want to mount them thru the bumper because that would be just asking for rust. I'm thinking of putting them right behind the grille. There is a horizontal plastic piece that looks sturdy enough to mount them on. Is that anything important or will I do any damage if I do that? Anyone do somthing like this before? By the way I don't want to put on a grille guard.

I dont know if you have purchased your lights yet but Pilot make a light for the f-series trucks. It is the PL-130c. They come with the mounting brakets and require no drilling for mounting other then the relay under the hood. There is no wiring to the inside of the truck since the lights work by the remote that is supplied. I spent some time looking for a pic since i dont have one of my truck and found a website with them.

I also just noticed that you can buy them form the website, well not really thought i would do a price check but it just asks for you zip code then tells you where you can buy them from. I paid 115 for mine. It took me about 1hr to install the hardest part was find a place to mount the relay sensor. Hope this is some help.
