Best thermo is the stock thermo. You may force it to run a little richer with a colder thermo but these modular engines run best at the temp they do.

Stock is the best, from what I have read. Several memebers and at least one vendor say do not change from the stock temp termostat.
Just what I have read here, so best bet is to remain safe, and keep it there.

If it is engine temp cooling capacity, you could look into AL radiators, Trans coolers, and electric fans.

From what I have seen, the Flex-a-lite 270 kit seems to do a good job of keeping the temp down. dual 15" fans.
Performance prod now has thier dual 16" fan kit available for shipping. One of the fans will run the system, the other I have hooked to the AC, but could also be hooked to a manual switch in the cab so you could turn it on when you wanted to ( or both ways with a relay setup if it was laid out correctly ).

Thanks, I heard this in '97/ My fear is the E-fans can fail you especially under haz conditions. Water levels in Miami go from dry to river in minutes. I would rather have the reliability of clutch fans...

Thermostat

I dropped a 160 in mine. I think it runs a little better. Not much, but maybe a little. I'm also looking at the flex-a-lite kit. It's a great package, but a lot of coin. Over 500 bucks.

Should be about 400.00 total

Take a look at Summit, flx-270 is 389.95, and the shipping is 7.95 flat fee.

That is where I got mine at, and I had no tax ( I think tax is only in OH, maybe NV as they had a warhouse there too ).

It took a few weeks, but it was ok by me, to save 100.00.

A few of the tuners have the kit, don't know if that is where you got the price from or not.

Just another one to look at Perf Prod ( supporting vendor ) is now shipping thier kit. It was not released when I got mine, but I think Rocks has it and likes it.

2-Derale 16" fans and a variable controller = $287.60 from Summit, including 7.97 S/H
