I'm in the process of re-doing my Expo. Actually making look like a 99+ with the front grille and so forth. As far as billet grilles, and the like, how hard is it to install one (I want 2 do this before I place the grille on the truck) Also in looking for a grille, is an
F-Series type of grille compatible with a 2001 front grille shell?? Please let me know I want to add a tribal grille, but I only see them for f-series models.

 

The Expy grill shell/surround is different then the F-Series. Billet grills are simple to install. Either grill shell will fit, just need to get the correct insert for the surround.

 

So Silver X u are saying that the above grille will not fit my expo?

 

You are putting the 99newer grill shell/surround on your 98 with new bumpers also? The 99up grill shells from a F series or Expy will fit, it's the insert's that are different style. An F series insert will not fit in an Expy surround or vise-versa. Whatever surround/shell you purchase, just get the one that you want to put the insert that you want.

 

Right, I am adding a 2001 Expedition Shell with the grille attaced as well as a 99+ bumper without the valance so far. I was worried that the grille insert that I want would not fit even though they look the same. I really want to put the grille in the shell before I attach everything.

The next thing is the lower valance or the bumper cover... I;m looking into the Lightning look a like or even a Harley D version if possible...
