Engine POWER

I currently own a 1998 4x4 Expedition and would like to know how much power these mods would add to my 4.6L V8?

AIRFORCE ONE Stainless Steel Performance Intake Kit
HYPERTECH Power Programmer III
GIBSON Heavy Gauge 409 Stainless Steel Header
GIBSON Dual 2 1/2inch Sport Truck Exit Aluminized Steel Cat Back Exhaust System

Would there be an extreme differance or would there only be a slight difference in performance? Right now my expy is a real slug when it comes to acceleration. Is there anything else I could do to free up some power?

Thanks!!

You would probably gain about 20 to 30 more horsepower and a little less than that in the torque.

With the full boat of goodies you list my guess is 20-25 HP, not to noticible until your up higher in the rev range, starting at 3000 and getting stronger though 4500. At best you may see an improvement of abou .3-.5 sec in 0-60 times

Nothing extreme here, in fact you may see most of your improvements in 0-60 times with the Hypertech alone if it allows you to reprogram the firmness and speed of the auto trans shifts.

You may also try to lose a little weight (not you, your truck)

If you have a 3rd row seat that is never used, take it out and lighten the truck by approx 80 lbs

I've done the Gibson catback, and a K&N FIPK. My 5.4 is a bit faster, sounds better... But nothing spectacular. These are big 'ol dogs, meant for cruising, not beating 5.0's and Motorola

But we can keep trying, cant we?
