Question expy exhaust

01 expy 5.4 4x4. Wanting to do the exhaust mod thing. Have it narrowed down to gibson swept side and the borla, but I dont want to cough out the bucks for borla unless theres a real difference in performance. Dont do any towing (not yet anyway). Are all cat back 3" single outs the same. Anyone had good or bad luck with any product

I have had the Gibson for about 3 years. I have not had a problem.

I've got a Gibson on mine, also. So far no problems, and it's got a nice sound.

Gibson, out the side. Sounds good... Amazingly easy install. On eighteen months

Thumbs up

I have a Borla single rear exit on my 99. Sounds great & will probably last longer than the truck.

exhaust

I went with the Flowmaster cat-back 3" system. It uses a 50 series SUV muffler and sounds great. It can be throaty on take off( if you like), but it is nearly as quiet as stock at 70-75MPH. I love it and the wife thinks it sounds good too. Got mine delivered to the house from Summit for $205.00 which included shipping and handling. Good luck.

Why don't you just cut your pipes just before the "Y" and have custom duals run the rest of the way back? I was looking at the exhaust system today on my 5.4L 4x4 and that seemed to be the best alternative.

Thumbs up Gibson SS

Originally, I installed a Jardine 3" catback and had a few issues with it. So, I changed it out for a Gibson SS and have never looked back. A great setup. Highly recommended.
