Angry Irrirtating Bushings

Has anyone had a lot of squeaking coming from their bushings? I hear the noise whenever I go over speed bumps or when the front end is compressed. Is there a special type of lube that is used to quiet the noise? Or should I get polyurethane bushings installed? 99 EB 4x2 with 40k miles

It sounds too early for bushings but who knows. I have another body that is having the same problem on a 97. When I find out I'll let you know he found. It might even be a ball joint, tie rod, or pitman arm. Let us know also what you find.

mine does it too

D Red X,

My '00 XLT w/ 30,000 miles does the same exact thing that you are describing, but i only notice it when it is cold. When the weather is warmer, the bushings seem to warm up and be alittle more flexable. They just get kinda stiff in the cold. I am eventually going to go to poly bushings and wont have to listen to the sqweak any more.
