Cool The New Silverstar bulbs are sweet!

I just installed the Sylvania Silverstar High Performance Halogens and I'll have to say they made quite a difference( My wife even gave them the thumbs up!). The light they emit is ultra white and they seem to cast more light on the road. I'm very impressed. They were 25 snails apiece (OUCH!!!) but I think they're worth it. I'm not sure if the Lightning headlights made them brighter but the kid in the auto parts store said his buddy put them in his camaro behind tinted covers. He said that night they went out and his buddy all of a sudden pulls off the road. He asked what was wrong and he said someone had ripped him off for his covers. He came to find that the new bulbs were so much brighter than stock it seemed like his covers were gone.

Did you have any type of super whites in there before or did you just replace the OEM bulbs?

Just curious how they compare to other "cheaper" superwhites. I like mine in both my Expy and the Volvo except that you can see a little bit of blue in the headlight during the day (light off of course) if you catch it just right. I'd like that pure white all the time look.

The Silverstars replaced the stock bulbs. I looked at the headlights in broad daylight and caught not the slightest hint of blue (off of course)

Lighting Headlamps

Did you notice any improvement over the stock headlights? I'm looking for better night vision, and am wondering if these headlights would be a worthwhile improvement..

Thanks,
Alex

I'd say there is an improvement over the stock bulbs and they are worth the 50 bucks I bled for them. They have got to be the cleanest, bright white bulb out there.

Where did you get them? I may try them to see if they're better than the one's I've got. And of course get rid of the hint of blue that refects even in the daylingt....that "look at me I'm a ricer looking for neon light's, coffee can's and fuzzy things to install" kind of blue. Ok, I got carried away......

What I am looking for is whether the new clear Lightning Headlights are an improvemebnt over the stock expdy headlamps. I'm considering the upgrade - if it will help with the nightime vision..

Thanks,

Alex

How do these compare to the PIAA Platium 9007s as far a color clarity and brightness? Does anyone know?

The Lightning headlights were a slight improvement over stock but not very noticeable. The Silverstars were very noticeable in my modest opinion.
