Does anyone know the amperage ratting of a 1998 Expedition with a tow package. My audio/Visual System and alarm is killing my battery, I want 2 know if 1000 amps is enough

First, put a digital multi-meter on the rig to see if what the current drain is with the engine off.
There should be very little (enough to keep clocks, etc going).
Check the drain with your AV system on.
The alarm should not draw anything serious.
Is your car parked in a parking garage during the day (there are cars in my garage that their alarms go off constantly throughout the day because of vibration or excess noise from some of the harleys.)
FInally, if the drain is that bad, go to a high end stereo shop (not a BestBuy or retailer) and have them check to see if you need one of the high output alternators designed for larger stereo systems.
Alternatively, switching to a deep cycle marine battery with the HO alternator woiuld be the ultimate.
Goodluck....and until then remember to carry your jumper cables.
