I just wanna thank you guys for your suggestions. Now I want to share with you the fruits of my labor. (Well the audio shop's labor) Also my "Expy-Fam" has anyone placed their amps in the firewall in the cargo area? If so how did u replace the Pocket, and also how did u secure the amps? My pocket broke, and now the amps are subject to falling out and getting or casuing some damage. Thanks Guys!!

Hey Drcarrillo

Sounds like you have a sweet EXPY. Do you have any pictures ?

I also like the DRIV wheels. I am looking into get the new ones
TORQ tell me what you think ?

On the toyo why did you go with
305/45/22 vs 325/40/22.

If you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for the
wheel/tire combo ?

I have done alot research and every where I check
these wheels are so expensive.

Amp mounting

I have mounted 4 amps into the passenger side of my truck all behind the panel. I removed the pocket and cut a wood panel out of 1/4 ply that matched the shape of the pocket. I traced the face of the pocket onto the wood and then drilled it for holes to mount 2 cooling fans. I then covered it with thin speaker covering to make it puffy and then with some tan cloth that matched the color of the truck. The worst part of the whole deal was getting four large amps into such a small hole. I used angle iron to stack them two deep and across the whole span. I also managed to retain the stock jack location. If you want a pic of the final product, let me know and I can email it to you.

Thanks,

Pat

I'd love to see that install as well. Please post a pic, or send it to me as well Caramale001@hotmail.com.

What tools would you need to complete this install. My collection of tools is scarce, and I'd hate to ask a shop to do it. I know they would charge me an arm and a leg. Also how would I connect a cooling fan to the install? Wiring??

Hoping to do this only with plexiglass over the front of the box and 3 woofers that kind of sit in an angle with Green or blue neon(see pic), Hoping to pull this off soon, Any Suggestions?!?!

(this is someone's Explorer on sounddomain.com).

INSTALL PICS

I don't actually have any install pic's of the amps installed. I can snap some pics of the cover I made, but didn't think that anyone would want to see that. The next time I have it apart I will snap some pics with the digital camera. I can take pics of the rest of the install, like the head unit/EQ & CD changer, and the sub box if anybody cares to see them.
