I have a intermittent vibration and noise in the front end that is very similar to running over rumble strips on the highway.It only lasts 2-3 seconds and i can feel it in the steering wheel.
It only happens when im in A4wd and seems to only happen on the highway.

Cv joints,ball joints,tie rods has no play,any ideas?

 

Mine's 2WD. But when I last experienced that noise, it was a chattering OD band in the transmission. See if you can find a common denominator to when the noise happens, such as when shifting to direct or OD, or at a specific speed.

 

My 2013 F150 has started doing this in 2 WD at low speeds, did you ever find out the problem?

What was the solution? I have a 2013 also that has a low rumble noise as Idecelerate that is intermittent, also in 2 WD. The dealership is saying they can't find anything and there are no codes popping up. Mine has about 30,000 onit. Thoughts?

 

Try a complete transmission fluid change. My 99 did that at about 30,000 miles, replaced fluid, cured it, hasn't done it since.
