You may just have to go to the dealer and order a new seal. But last year when my sunroof broke, I had to order a whole new sunroof and get it installed. The cost was $1475.00....good thing my insurance covered it! Only cost me $250. Good luck!

How exactly did your sunroof break and how did you get your ins to cover it?

Actually I was just cruising around town with it tilited up (not fully open) and I went to close it and heard a small noise and of course it didn't close. So I did what anyone would do in this situation....PANIC! (Because I have heard these things can be expensive!)

I looked it over in my driveway but could not figure out why it would not close. So I went to the dealership which was about 6 miles away. They told me they had to take it apart to tell me what the problem was and upon doing so, they found 2 small "arms" made out of plastic of course, had broken in the track system.

After about an hour of searching they told me the inevitable....I had to order a whole new "track" system replacement. There was no way they could just get me the pieces that broke...and the total cost would be $1475.00 !! (Doesn't everyone have that much laying around for a repair? Lol)

I IMMEDIATELY (from the parking lot) called my extended warranty coverage company who advised me that I had only purchased the "Silver" package and sunroofs are only covered by the "Gold" package...NOT GOOD!

I then called my insurance company Geico who told me that I had purchased "mechanical breakdown coverage" but only "breakdowns" are covered.

At this point it is about to start pouring rain and after being transferred a couple times they get me in touch with the right person who asked "Are you broke down?" I said Yes!, my sunroof willl not close, and it is starting to rain, if water gets in the cab it's going to cause even more damage!!

They quickly approved the repairs and I only had to pay a $250 deductible. I was relieved. Geico saved me $1250 and I will forever be grateful. Most insurance companies would have not covered those repairs and I would have been SOL.

I just thought I was gonna have to tape a garbage bag over the sunroof, and drive home in the rain, lol. Sorry for the long story.

If the seal around the glass lets too much water in, the drain tubes can't keep up and will overflow into the tray area

That's what I was thinking. Water is in the tracks where the wind deflector is riveted, which in turns runs down toward the head liner and drips through that crack.

Or I was thinking the rear drip tray is disconnected but the sunshade stops where it should.
