Just wondering what is the fastest any of you guys have driven your expys?? i got my moms up to around 115 once, and it only has the 4.6L.

 

From the factory, the 4.6 has a higher top speed limiter at about 102. The 5.4 is set at 98. Superchip took mine away. I hit 105 by accident and shut it down quick. I'm not trusting non speed rated tires to high speed like that. Almost 6000#'s at over 100 blowing a tire?

You hit 105 by accident??? How do you do that?? Aim for 110 and miss??

Do the EB Expy's have a higher speedo than the regular XLT? I think the speedo in my wife's '00 XLT only goes to 100.

Maybe I just haven't paid it enough attention.

I do know that even with the wide 285-55-18 speed rated tires I run on this truck, I would not feel safe above 95mph. I typically stick the cruise on ~78-80 when we take trips and leave it there.

I leave the high-speed jaunts to something else.
