2012 Expedition EL Limited

While waiting for the 2013 F150 with projector headlights, I had to pack my family (wife, me, son and daughter) and 5 month old grandson and 4 year old grand daughter into my 2009 F150 Platinum - after listening to all kids (except the 5 month old) complaining, I realized I have a family of 6 and need to go back to full size SUV. After driving a Suburban and Expedition EL, I now have an Expedition EL Limited.

I am amazed at how well the Expedition goes into and out of my garage better than the F150.

I do wish the Expi had the new drivetrains, but I never had any complaints about the 2009...

Congrats on the new ride.

FYI the 2013 order guides have been out a month or 2 now, and again for 2013 basically no changes to the Expy's. Which continues to shock me that they have not at least incorporated the F150s current powertrain options, elctronics etc.

GM will be rolling out an all new Suburban/ Tahoe etc, for 2014 do Q2-Q3 of 2013, with an all new interior and electronics and suposedly new powertrains. So maybe 2014 will finally force Ford to at least put the EB and 5.0L in the EXPYs.

Yesterday I bought a used 2012 Expedition Limited for my wife and love it already. Amazing how much better it handles, turns, rides, etc than my 2006 FX4 F150.

What amazes me about the Expedition is how dated the interior is compared to the F150. My Platinum compared to the Limited Expy blows the Expy out of the water. My wife wants another Expy, but I can't justify the cost when I compare what the My Platinum offers. A nice SUV like the Expy should have power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, a sweet gauge set up, smooth clean lines instead of the boxy look, etc... I'm trying to get her to hold out until they hopefully give the Expy a makeover...

I agree. I ordered an Expy in January and love it except for the dash and center stack. Ford is putting all there effort into the F150's and the smaller suvs do to sales. Ford did good with my 2011 F150 on those things and now I ordered a 2013 (that just arrived at the dealer) they add some things that made it even better.

The 2012 Limited Expi EL is definiely a step back from even a 2009 Platinum F150. Even just the new drivetrains would be a major step forward, bringing the interior upgades to the Expi with the drivetrain would be an incredible vehicle. I need the passenger capacity, and the 3rd row fold down is a better solution than the lift out in the Suburban - for what is on the market today the Expi EL is the best solution for me.

Congrats on the purchase. I have a 2011 limited that I bought brand new in 2010 and love it. I thought the interior was fine. There isn't much more you can get. It has everything you could want. I guess I need to go look at a new f150 to see what yall are talking about. I would like to see the ecoboost put in it though.
