'05 Navigator exhaust tip

Does anyone know or have a pic of the exhaust tip that was available from the factory? I have seen so many different ones. Also was it an option to have the exhaust dump on the passenger side instead of out the back? Thanks for any info you may have.

Hey guys, new here...

I have had the same thoughts about a side exhaust outlet for my '07 Navigator. I notice that the tailpipe/resonator or as it is called from the dealer, the "extension" is clamped on rather than welded. I called the dealer today to ask about the Expedition extension to see if it is compatible with the Nav. Of course, they can't tell me what size the pipe is but I cant see any reason why you couldn't clamp on the Expedition pipe to the Nav system. It would mean not having the additional resonator (good deal in my book) and possibly needing to replace the rear hangar. Ford wants $140 for the part, or Walker makes a crimped one for about $25.

All I need is for someone to post a pic of a 2006-7 or so Expedition axle back extension and clamp and measure the diameter of the pipe at the clamp and I will call this a very doable mod to keep your wife from burning her leg on the chrome tip....

Otherwise I got a quote today to have a custom pipe bent and installed for $85 and that includes retaining the stock tip. Still a good deal, but I would prefer a bolt on solution here.

So, who has their camera charged and their calipers ready to work?

Absolutely, as long as they didn't change the size of the exhaust pipe/flange/clamp from one model to the other...

The idea is that I want to buy the part and bolt it on. It is a good chunk of cash (for a piece of pipe) and also a special order. I don't want to deal with the dealer, pre-pay for it, find out it's on backorder and wait a couple months for it, get the call, pick it up, get it home, remove the old part and find out that the pipe size is different and it won't work and then oh, by the way, it was special order so you can't return it...

Can you tell I've been there before?
