Just purchased a 99 Navi

Hey all,

I just purchased a 99 Navigator the other day. It has 120k on it, new brakes all around, new airshocks all around, body is in good shape, interior is mint. It is a VIN L, so it has the SOHC engine, but i'm happy with what i paid for it.

Few questions:

Everytime i park/turn off the truck, it lowers itself by a good 1-2", but once i start it back up it lifts itself back up and it rides fine. Is this normal?

I plan on towing close to 6,500lbs from time to time (my 3800 car+trailer+tools etc) Supposedly the truck has a 7700lb tow rating so I will defiantly be within its limits. My question is how does the airbag suspension take to a heavy load? Is there a way to make the airbags inflate up before hooking up the trailer?

Other thing is when i first test drove the truck, the odometer was nice and bright and you could clearly read 120,297. It was raining and i was touching every button around the dash, now you can hardly see the odometer. What did i touch and how do i get the brightness back? The backlight around the speedometer and other gauges is bright, but not the odometer?

Thanks for any help!

I'm sure there will be more questions to come in the future.

do a search for the odometer light... there is a thread on how to fix it... but just because the light goes out it still keeps the mileage... it's a known ford problem that might effect the Navi's too...
