Lowering a 2wd Expy?

Just picked an 05 up for my wife.

What is required when installing a set of lowering springs (like eibachs). Do you need some alignment crap? Or anything else? Just want to do it right the first time

Thanks

you can just install them, but it is recommended that you get new shocks that it rides better, and yes an alignment is needed

I assumed an alignment was needed, but is there anything additional I will need to get a good alignment.

Thanks again for the help!

In my experience if your going to be running stock tires you may not need an alignment but if your running anything bigger than stock you might. You may also consider how much your lowering as well as rim size I didnt think of it and now Im rubbing sometimes pertty bad.

how about a 1/1 drop?

my Expy sits level, and I only want 1" less wheel-well gap for when I switch to 33" rubber

thanks, I guess for now I was just planning on running a set of the Eibach springs with a set of 22 x 9.5's. I'm not looking for a crazy drop since this is my wifes driver.

An aliment will probably be necessary and possibly shims for the pinion angle.
Definitely a good set of shocks.

If you do this, post some pics.

its definately going to get done, but I'll probably wait till the chance of snow is over ( late march or early april). The wheels are here sitting in the garage, just need to get the suspension stuff ordered up and throw that stuff in. I shouldn't need shims for pinion angle since the expeditions have IRS. I assumed an alignment was manditory, I just want to make sure I have everything I need before I try to get it done.

I'll be sure to post before and after pics

That won't be necessary since the 03-10 Expy's have independent rear suspension. Adjustable camber bolts may or may not be needed but I can't remember anyone needing them. If you install them, give us a review and post some pics.

I would of had said you try to get 22x9 but looks like you already have the rims cause with the 23x10 they stick out to much in the front.

that is why the "OEM" Saleen rims are staggered.

23x10 rear
23x9 fronts

looks awesome

I couldn't pass up the deal on the ones I got, and when I mounted them up to appear to fit almost perfectly so far...we'll see once we get tires mounted and I throw the springs in. Hopefully they still look and fit good
