I don't know anything about a factory Lightning Expedition, but the Jul/Aug 2001 issue of Truck Trend magazine (by Motor Trend) has the first installment of their Lightning Expedition project.

 

I think I am gonna cry, I was gonna buy one to haul the family around in, I mean what could be sweeter than hauling around your family in speed, and in style all at the same time?

I have a current project going on now, I have a wrecked 84 F-250 with a good 460 in it, and a god pair of axels, I am working on a machine, and dang its work but its fun as hell to see a project like this come together.
