The '01 Expy we just took delivery on has Goodyear Wrangler TA 255 70R16 on it. They look and ride wonderfully with no noticable interior road noise.

Since you vehicle is a 2WD, I would go with a LT265/75/16. This particular tire will be 10mm wider and about an inch and a half taller, thus filling out the gap in the wheel well. I've got a 4x4 with LT285/75/16 AT's that make my Expedition look like it should...not like an oversized station wagon.

How about 315/55r16 BFG Sport Truck T/A's? About two inches wider and slightly (1/2 inch) shorter. Would need at least an 8 inch wide rim, though...

expodrew:
I replaced the 255's on mine with 265/70R16 Michelins. Ford should have put these on from the factory. They are a bit taller and wider. My speedo is about 2-3% off. I think they look just right. Quiet too!

I just put on the BFG KO's 265R75-16... They look great, but did hit the corners of the rubber air dam at nearly full lock... pretty easy to clip the corners off for clearance.
One more thing, they didn't help on the mileage or power... It's not bad, but you will notice it.
