Post bolt pattern and spacing on 1998 vs. 2001

Hello,

I just wanted to know if the bolt pattern and spacing are the same for a 1998 4wd Expedition and a 2001 Expedition. Someone told me the 2001 were 14mm while the 1998 were 12mm. If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. The reason is that someone with a 2001 would like to by my 18" rims, but we do not know if they are swappable. Thanks for the help guys.

Robert

You can swap them, it's not the bolt pattern that is different, it's the lug nut size. 97-99 use 12mmX1.75 and the 2000- 14mmX2.00.

Silver X,

So all I have to buy are new lug nuts? Do you know where I could get them and approx. how much?

Thanks

I would guess the 18's have a cone shape lug needed? so all the guy with the 2001 would have to do is get 14mmX2.00 coned lugs (or whatever shape lug needed) at a wheel shop. Basically whatever lug you use for the 18's now you need the same lug with the 14mm fitment. I'd have to say that a wheel shop would charge for chrome lugs $20.00 +/- a bit.
