Question Mud Flaps / Spash Guards

I have the factory molded mud flaps on their way to me for the rear for my 2001 EB.
Has anyone put the front molded flaps on and X-EB that has the lighted boards on it?
They supposedly will not fit, but I have seen pics.
By the way, I got a good price (28.57) on them from Dan Newman at 5Star (FordPartsForSale.com)
I want to put something on the front to keep road stuff off my boards.
Thanks for the help.
Greg

I had them on my 99 and they fit fine. I'm looking for the tan flaps for the 2000. Are these what you ordered or did you get the black ones. There are a few people on this list waiting for the Tan ones to match the EB wheel trim.

The front ones will also keep the amount of dirt that accumulates on the front of the running boards down as well. Especially in winter.

Please let me know which ones you got---Bob

I requested the tan EB Flaps.
The black ones were the same price.
Dan at 5Start said that the he thought EB flaps were also cut a little different because of the wheel well molding on the EBs.
Will take pics when they come in and I install them.

My main question was, will the factory molded flaps fit on the front with the boards.
All the parts people that I have talked to said the 2000 EB flaps (which is what I ordered) will hit the boards and not seat right. They suggested that I would be better off getting a set of flat non-contoured ones for the front to go on the inside of the wheel well down just below the boards.

    We'll see.

I have an 00 EB with the black 99 flaps. I couldn't hold out for the '00 flaps to be available (in fact last time I called parts they still said Late availiability, and that was like Feb '01!) So I have the Black ones on my tan trim, doesn't look bad, in fact it's hardly noticable that there is anything down there. I can't remember what I paid, but this it was around $75 set of 4 installed at the dealer.

Well Mine are '99 EB flaps, and I have the Illum. running boards. Mine fit fine, might not be as tight as Michael jackson's glove, but it fits good, and keeps dirt off the step. I don't see how a generic flap would fit any better, or come close to matching the AZ Beige trim we have.

If nothing else this is the dealer you bought from right? If they don't have them in stock, make them order a pr for the front, test fit them, if you like pay, if not say you don't want them, they can't make you pay for something you don't want. They'll either sell them to someone else or send them back to their warehouse.

I'd kinda like to have a set of tan, but the black set I have fits fine, and it doesn't bother me they are black & the trim is beige.

Hopefully the package will be here in the next couple of days.
Hang in there and I will post what I got.

        Well, they came in today.
        They are the black ones.
They are the black EB version though.
The EB set is cut differently to allow for the wheel well trim.

I saw a set of the tan on a blue EB today though and I have to say, its a good thing that mine came in BLACK!! The tan ones match the tan of the running boards and in my opinion seriously clash with the biege of the painted wheel well trim. Just my .02

If you need the P/Ns for the flaps, let me know.

          G.Andrews,

I posted the other day that I saw some this weekend on a white one. I didn't notice the color clash but from behind, wow, it wasn't what I expected. A little to door trim, sparkley pin stripe, scotch tape window tint....if you get my drift.

I'm sure the black look much better because they'd not be as noticable.
