Question Interior Trim Removal

Anyone ever remove the interior trim to run wiring..?
I want to install a glass mount CB antenna in the rear side glass... then route the wire to the front. How do the trim covers come off? where do you start pulling?

By the way, I found a really nice place to tap into power for a CB or other equipment... under the center console.
I can explain how if anyone is interested.

Please give us more info on that tapable power. Do you know which fuse services it?

most of the interior panels snap right off. i've routed a glass-mount antenna in mine, actually put it just above the rearview mirror and routed the wire under the headliner and then down the a-pillar. works like a charm. gets the antenna nice and high and the wipers don't hit it.

Wink

On my '98 the center console has a power point on the back corner...
To get to the wire feeding it you need to remove the console arm rest/cover... (4) screws... when it's off you expose (2) torx type screws which hold the rear cover on the lower part of the console. Remove those screws, then gently pull back on the rear cover... there are (4) clips holding the cover on... You can swing the panel down leaving all the wires for the power point and radio controls connected.
Now you have a nice area below the console for equipment (I mounted my CB's connector box down there, I use a CB with all controls on the mike) and a pair of wires for full time power... fed by the power point fuse... which should be big enough to support just about anything.
I'm not sure your '99 is the same... but it should be similar.
Good luck...

Another tip...
I used 3M type crimp on tap/connectors to tie into the power point wires... that way I didn't have to cut anything.
