1997 Expedition with issue

I have a 1997 Eddie Bauer Expedition. It has the gas mileage,direction display up above. Well its stuck on E no matter what direction you go.

Maybe you have to recalibrate the compass? If you still have your manual, there should be instructions on how to in there.

I tried to recalibrate the compass just like the owners manual said and for some reason its not working. Im using the paper clip and holding up on reset button and im getting nothing.
