Video system in the Expys
Hello all,
I am trying to find info on the overhead video systems I have seen on some expys about town.
I like the monitor that swings down from the overhead console so that the kids in back can watch videos.
Has anyone seen one in kit form??
Thanks for any help

Audiovox makes a nice unit, and the one you may have seen might have been a Ford Visteon unit. I am not sure about the Visteon availability in that vehicle though. They tend to be expensive, like around $1500 would be a "good" price. You can also get the Nintendo 64 to operate with it too.

If you have the rear-air in your Expy, it will be very hard to find a unit tha t mounts from the ceiling. Q-logic makes one that is a 6.4" LCD screen that replace the rear portion of your console, I belive it is actually called Q-View and you can see it on their website www.airesearch.com, they are here in Oklahoma and I have seen quite a bit of their stuff and it is good quality.
Hope this helps,
Hope this helps,
I have rear air in my Expy and had a trusted audio/video shop install the unit from Audiovox...that and a completely new stereo system to boot (didn't get the upgraded stereo stock b/c I knew it was all coming out).
Anyway, its a nice 7" screen that drops down from the ceiling. With the kit you get an entirely new overhead console, but retain everything regarding controls for air, etc. The only thing you lose is the center vent for the 2nd seat. The rest of the vents work fine.
Mine is set up to play through the stereo or you can switch that off and the kids can listen via remote headphones. Works awesome. The price mentioned above is about right (includes installation, of course), but I got a bit of a break b/c these people have done stereo installs on all my cars.
