have a 1998 ford expedition, with a 5.4 been looking for the computer code.it is not in the same place as my 1997 f-150.

Check both door frames. If it's not there, then check the ECU itself. Could be a sticker under the hood if a service shop has
"re-flashed" it for some reason.

 

Found mine on the passenger door jam between the hinges.

look under the passenger side kick panel
and you will find the ECU itself.
The code is usually on a label on a
black rubber plug on the end of the ECU faceing you. 3 letters and a number on
my 98.

Randy; Give me a call at 855-4626. Your ecu may have been reflashed. If so, there will be a sticker under the hood. A local dealer here has reflashed several ecu's and failed to place the sticker in them. If so, I can pull the service record on your Expy and get the updated code. You would probably never know about a reflash, the dealer does this when your vehicle is in for service. The dealer gets updates, sometimes monthly.
