Cool Tires

What's the consensus on the most reasonable (considering traction, longevity, and cost)set of replacement tires for a 2WD 5.4 Expy that does infrequent 6,000 lb tows? My 97 has about 52K on the OEM set and won't make it much past 60K here in western PA. Thanks.

I would reccomend Michelin XC LT4's. I have them on my Explorer and they wear much better any of the previous:
Stock Firestone FR480's
31K Goodyear Wrangler Aquatread
47K Goodyear Wrangler RT/S
73K Michelin X-One
92K Michelin XC LT4 to present 118K

The Michelin's are quieter, smoother and haven't worn on the edges like the others.

I am looking for tires as well. Go to
"tirerack.com" they have the best prices and give very good info and comarisons.

The Mich's are the best!!

I have the orig 17 inch Goodyear Wranglers and THEY SUCK!!! I have hydro-plained MANY times. ONLY BUY tires that allow water to escape out the sides as well!
