Need Advice on Exhaust

OK so I am about to take the plunge on getting some exhaust work done.

I have an 03 Exp (Eddie B) this is my "Family" vehicle so I dont want it to be obnoxiously loud. I would like a nice noticeable rumble but nothing to loud.

What do you guys recommend??

Thanks

Also if you upgraded your intake let me know what you got.

I have a 50 series delta flow flowmaster on 08 f150, it has a nice rumble on the outside and interior sound is very low , that is the biggest difference. You can hear it when you step on it. If you want a less sound 60 or 70 series flowmaster. You can utube it, look up expo with 50 series delta flow muffler and 60 and 70 to see what they should like.

If you are going to run Flowmasters...I gotta ask something.

How old are you, and how much of your hearing do you want to retain?

I have yet to find a good sounding Flowmaster Muffler that isn't loud as hell. I've got a custom dual Flowmaster setup on my Hemi and that thing is headache inducing, and has a horrible drone at highway speeds

On the otherhand, Magnaflow is pretty much what you are asking about prican_2000. Magnaflow is know for rumble when you stomp it, but nice light background noises when you are cruising.

I'm waiting for my Expy to get back from the Dealership, then I'm putting a custom Maggie kit on. Going to run a 20-22" bullet style with 3" piping out the back...to I think a 3.5" SS tip

then when more money is available, my Hemi is getting the same...luckily I didn't pay for that Flowmaster abomination

btw, here are some videos of the Magnaflow Box Kit #16614 I had on my 2006 F-150 with the 5.4

Most are with just a Volant CAI...but 1 is after I installed the Supercharger. Wish I had videos of the Magnaflow Magnapacks exhaust I had on my 2003 Mustang GT...that thing was wicked sounding

That is the exact reason i got the 50 series delta flow, i did lots of research on u tube vidoes and on line. It has nice sound on outside but interior sound is way down almost half of the outside noise , thats why i didnt get a 40 series.

there is a link look at the graphic chart. I got 50 series becasue i didnt want head ache and my wife didnt either and she said what i have is good. i can put volume to like 2 and hear it fine , carry on conversation with hout yelling.

wow, sounds like Flowmaster has finally listened to some of the older folks

yeah, I've got a Super 40 on the Hemi...you know it's loud when I can set off a car alarm while driving through a parking lot.

Jesus, you must be deaf? The one chamber is the race muffler for gods sake.
The 50 series delta flow (the entire delta flow line for that matter) are designed around exterior tone and no drone. It'll sound good with a 2.5" catback kit and a 50 delta muffler.

I personally don't like magnafarts. I think they sound raspy, and rather crappy. That added on to the fact that they were an off the shelf cheapo years ago ([people tend to conviently forget this fact) This is where my tuner and I part ways on performance, as he prefers magnafart, and I'm flowmaster all the way

Sorry,I meant 3 chamber.Numbers are backwards.I usually run 2 chamber but thought 3 would give me enough rumble.Needless to say I went back the next day and 2 chamber it was.

Aye, that sounds about right. A one chamber would make you nearly unable to hear your radio during hard accel

Here's my little contribution: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUyr6pLQFBE

It's just an 18" Magnaflow muffler swapped in for the stock one. I also have a CAI, AFE I believe. Don't remember the name of it, but it's for an 03 4.6 Expy.
