HEY GUYS MY WIFE HAS A 05 XLT EXPY IS THERE ANY OTHER FORUMS TO GET PARTS FROM OTHER THAN EBAY ALSO HAS ANYONE DONE THE GOTTS MOD TO THEIRS IF SO ANY CHANGE? I,M TRYING TO DO SOME MODDING AND CAN'T SEE PAYING STEALERSHIP PRICES!

 

What type of parts, aftermarket or OEM?

Haven't done the Gotts mod to mine (I have a CAI), but don't 05 Expys have the 3V 5.4? If so, I don't know if it'd be a good idea to do the mod to that engine without some tuning.. In the F150's they are notorious for going lean when a CAI is added.

 

just thinking about black headlights, getting billit grill (painted black upper and lower) maybe black tails and deleteing the lettering on back her expy is the gray with the black plastic crap on bottom

 

For black headlights, you can find some on ebay (though I can't really say much about the light output and optics on them), or if you're lucky, find some headlights that come on the Limited trim model. Those are OEM black (so you'd get the optics and quality of OEM.) I think they are called the off-road model headlights or something like that.

For black tails, you could either buy some aftermarket ones, or have the OEM ones painted (clear with a little bit of black).

Deleting the lettering on the back is going to take some fishing line, a warm day, and possibly some detailing clay (to get rid of whatever crap is left after the letters come off.)

What color is her Expy? I, too, have the plastic bottom, but I painted mine black. I'm going to try to PTM it, one of these days, just for fun.
