2005 expedition xlt major electrical problems
ANYONE WHO CAN HELP? PLEASE REPLY!!!!!
Our 2005 Expedition XLT has major electrical problems we can not seem to find the answers. Please Help
1. power locks and remote key entry stopped working completely, no sounds coming from doors at all. Interior lights don't work when doors open?
2. Rear liftgate glass release switch doesn't work or switch does not make noise?
3. Door ajar light stays on constantly, now. WE ALREADY TRIED THE WD40 TRICK W/ NO SUCCESS?
4. Rear defrost doesn't work. I can hear switch click when pressed, but does not defrost window.
5. Radio will not turn off automatically anymore, when door is opened. Have to turn off manually.
6. When radio is on and I press the rear defrost the radio station gets very static.
ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

It sounds like a short to somewhere in the system. The problem is finding out where exactly that somewhere is. Most of your probs seem to be coming from the doors. I would check ALL of the wiring going to the doors, look for anything worn, kinked, etc. Also check the interior light bulbs in the doors. I have seen this one other time...the horn would blow when the right blinker was applied, the brights would come on when he hit the brakes, etc, etc. It was a bad blinker bulb that had shorted to ground. If all of your probs started at the same time (especially in an almost new rig) I would look for something like that.
