Expedition A4WD to 2WD, 4WD, etc?

Is there a way to convert my 99 expy's a4wd to the 98 style selector? Or is there a way to just disconnect the auto engagement of the 4wd system? Any info is greatly appreciated!

I'm just repeating what Ive read here and elsewhere (mines a 98).
You just need to pull the pink 30A fuse in the engine bay fuse box (make sure you get the right one), you can wire in an additional switch with an inline fuse if you want to make it selectable like the 97& 98s. Basically, when you pull that fuse you are in 2WD, but its important to remember you are still turing all the running gear so you wont see any improvement in milage and parts will still wear the same. Your truck just wont engage the front hubs when the rears start to slip.

That's nice to know. I always wondered about that but never got around to asking.
