question difficult to search for...

Hi,
Sorry for this post if this issue is well known to the experts. I've got a 2001 expedition, 5.4L V8 with 65k mi. Over the last 6 months, 3 times after driving the truck, then parking it, it won't start. It cranks and begins to start, idles very slowly, then dies. Waiting about 1 hour, then it will start like nothing was ever wrong. There is no CEL either. It doen'st seem to depend on it being warm or cool weather.

I can't take it in with an intermittent problem like this.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
jeff

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Get the fuel pressure read and if you haven't changed the fuel filter go ahead and change it. Check on a TSB for fuel pump wiring connector.

Thanks for the leads.
Fuel filter is new (genuine motorcraft).
I'll research the TSB for fuel pump wiring connector. [later] I didn't find a TSB for fuel pump wiring...

Thanks,
jeff
