Throw an engine code????

Hi,
Does it throw an engine code? I just noticed one of my Expeditions missing like a bad batch of fuel or filter. Doing a filter soon. Just wondering, I figured it would throw a engine code if that were the problem.

My # 4 coil (passenger side closest to the firewall) was bad and did not throw the check engine light on. I would occasionally get a skip going up a hill so I changed my fuel filter hoping that was it. I ended up taking it to my Ford mechanic friend who checked it after hours at his dealership. He hooked up his computer and showed some history on an error code, but not enough to set off the check engine light. He ended up replacing the # 4 coil,
but it was not easy access.

Remove the fuel rail and you can get right to it. Two bolts/screws holding it then just apply upward pressure (front to back) and the rail will pop right off. Use a little oil around the O-rings on the injectors and pop it right back on when you are done. Just look at the injectors to make sure the rail seated all the way down.
