Unless I'm missing something, I can't find a header listing at bassani.com for a Navigator

So you're sayin, the 4.6 dohc and the 5.4 dohc headers are interchangeable?

Tim,

I've just spent over an hour on Jegs site and I came up with nothing. I could find exhaust systems, but nothing for headers.

That said, I have found 1 or 2 shorty headers but can't find any long ones. I'm beginning to think they just don't exist.

the heads are the same just using different cams and different blocks.

The 5.4 4V Navigator heads are not the same as the 4.6 4V. Their are several similarities, such as the combustion chamber is 52cc in both the 99-04 Navi and the 99-02 Cobra head. I'm looking at a picture of the exhaust ports (which is what this thread has to do with), and the ports and bolt holes look like they very well may be identical. Remember, also that the 5.4 2V engine has a totally different exhaust port so no expedition headers of any year will work on your 99+ Navi.

I suggest posting this question on a Mustang message board to confirm with some experienced modular 4V people that the exhaust ports are the same. THEN, you know that you will have all of the 4.6 4V headers to choose from (to TRY to find one that may work in the Navi with minimal modification). This includes all for the following vehicles:

Mercury Marauder (all years)
Lincoln Aviator (all years)
Mustang Cobra (99-04)
Mustang Mach 1 (03-04)
Navigator (99-04)

I looked into headers for my Navi about 2 years ago and decided at that time it was not going to be worth the trouble. Now by now it is at least possible that somebody makes one (still unlikely).

Good luck and let me know what you find out!

Calviro,

Thanks for the info. I do know that JBA and Gibson make shorty headers for the 99-02 DOHC Navi. I was wondering if anyone does long tubes. I doubt it, short of a full custom job. And I have not seen any listed for the 03-04 years.
While 4.6 long tubes might fit, I wasn't interested in the customizing that would come with the application. If this happens at all, the motor will be out of the truck so I'd like the install to be as easy as possible when dropping it back in.
