Sway bar endlinks!!!!!!!!

I just broke my 3rd sway bar endlink in 2 years. DS went about 2 years ago, then PS, now DS again. WTF? I replaced the DS w/ one from Advance Auto ($7), and the stealership, I mean dealership, did the other one for $65 ouch, don't ask, and now the DS broke again, what gives?

1999 Lincoln Navigator, 90,xxx miles

These are the ones at the front, correct?

I had the dealer replace the DS and PS with OEM parts when we first bought our 2000 in 2003. They stayed permanently attached the whole time we owned her. The service guy did say that Ford redesigned the part so that it wouldn't break so easily.

Perhaps the $7 Advance Auto part was based on the old design?

Yes, the front ones. Might be. I didn't think it was the strongest looking part. I guess those endlinks take a lot of weight/stress so as to keep the body from rolling much.

Thumbs up Sway Bar Bushings/LInks

I have a 2000 EB 4WD. I just purchased the Energy Suspension sway bar bushing/end link kits for our truck. The part numbers are 4.5145G for the front (33 mm sway bar bushings and includes end links) and 4.5146G for the rears (22 mm sway bar bushings and includes end link hardware and bushings, need to reuse the end link rods). The link to the site is:

I ordered these from PepBoys (special order for a total of $52 for both, they do not charge shipping and it was store pick up). We have ~85K miles on our truck and have not had any issues, I am only replacing as I have had good experience with ES parts on our other vehicles. I will install today.
