1997 Running Board Question
1997 Running Board Question
I picked some OEM RB's for my 1997 Expedition. They came with all bolts, directions, ect.
The mounting holes under my body do not have any threads, so are the upper bolt holes supposed to be self-tapping or should I tap the holes? The bolts do not resemble self-tapping bolts. The lower mounting holes use spring clip type bolts, but the upper do not seem made for those. The bolts seem like they would fit if the holes were threaded so I don't think the bolts are meant to pass thru.
Anyone mounted OEM RB's on an Expy that did not have them originally, and did U have to tap the OEM mounting holes?
Thanks.

When I repalced my 97 EB running boards with another factory set I didnt have to drill any holes. All that was needed is what I call 'J Hooks'.I know I am not explaining it correctly.IMO they should bolt right up with out any drilling.Hope this helps a bit
