I am looking to do the same thing to my 2000 Expy. Go here to get a start of what is required

Mad Mike has done many of these swaps and is considered an expert on the subject. Good Luck...

I am trying to to get my wife to let me have 4000 dollars for this swap.

Search. It's been being discussed for years.

Start here.

:EDIT: Ok, after reading a couple of posts (haven't been to that forum in 2-3 years) th KB may not be the best route. But I still stand behind being cautious doing it.

I was going to add the Whipple or get a new truck and I decided to get a new truck when I considered that I was already pushing the Expedition to it's limits by towing our boat and I didn't want to push it more by SCing. Power really wasn't an issue.

I sent diesel instead and never looked back. I'll can get those kinds of power increases simply with a tune. And the power increases I saw aren't impressive to me anymore. Range of 450 ft lb's of torque????? A tune will get me to 600-700. Stock I'm still over that. And I can at least, run along side an L. I've let Mustang's pull in behind me too. It's humbling to some guys to see 8000# fill their eyes with black smoke as it rolls right past them.

$4000????? Why not go with a new KB or Whipple (Is Dustin still doing a 5.4 SC???) Also consider the age of your 5.4 and it's internals vs. the performance gain. It may not be what you'd be hoping for.

It's a moot point anyway - my wife will never let me spend the money on a supercharger. My internals are forever saved

$4000 seems kind of steep for a Lightning blower swap. Im not saying your wrong, Im just saying for that money I would just get a KB.

1600 dollars for the lightning supercharger assembly off ebay, minus the heat exchanger, 1300 and change to mad Mike for the remainder of the parts and roughly 500 for labor to install it. I will still need to get the heat exchanger and intercooler. Sooooo..... roughly 1600+1300+500+price for intercooler and heat exchanger = 4000 dollars.

It's a moot point though.
