05 Expy already in the shop!

Greetings,
I recently traded my 05 SCrew Lariat for a new 05 Eddie Bauer Expy (leftover). Anywho, when I test drove it, I never hit the interstate with it (I know, I'm a knucklehead). Well, this weekend I did hit the interstate and the steering whell shakes pretty badly from 60 MPH on up. I stopped at 85 looking for a speed that the vibe would end at. It's at the stealership now so hopefully they'll fix it. Do you guys think it could be something as simple as an out of blance wheel? Did the Expy's experience the "vibe" issue that the F150s did? Thanks guys!
Griz

Most likely is a wheel weight issue. If it was a leftover 05 then it probably had quite a few test drives, and there's no telling who could've thrown a weight.

Plus the OEM Continentials are pretty bad.

Good news Gents. The stealership said the tires were bad (imagine that) and replaced them with a new set of BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/As. I'm really pleased with the look and the Expy now drives like an Expy Eddie Bauer should. Thanks for your inputs fellas.

Oh god, had I known you were working with continentals I would have suggested a tire fire. Those have to be the worst tires I have ever had the displeasure of riding on. My Navi rode like a 1944 Sherman tank with those contitract (or whatever they were) on it. Changed to Goodyear Eagle GT II's and it will all but drive itself.

No doubt! It still floors me that Ford would build such a sweet rig and then throw those chitty Contitracs on them. It doesn't add up. I'm loving the BFGs though.

Sounds like very good service from the dealer.

I wish my Honda dealer was as responsive.

Yeah it really was. I got really lucky that they obliged me and honored my request not to put the Continentals back on.

My wife drove her Navigator home in 2000 while I followed.
I noticed the Conti's sliding on a small amount of snow.

Next day I took it in for a new set of Michelins. I can't imagine why Ford puts those tires on a 50K vehicle.

Mine I took off after less than 1000 miles. I have since used them (they were brand new) for pratice slinging knives, testing blade durability, and well you get the idea.
