Broken contact rear defroster

My son (4) decided it would be cool to rock the contact back and forth and it broke. Now I have the coiled wire hanging by the rear window with the broken contact stuck in it. Any thoughts on how to repair this?

You can try to solder them back together as they are copper. I have tried this 4 or 5 times without any success. GLOBS of solder.

Buckeye, Did you find a solution to the broken defroster contact? I had the same problem and came across this repair kit site.

Hope this helps.

This happened on my old Explorer. I never fixed it though.

1st put your son in Time Out.
2nd deduct future allowance for the repair cost.

Good luck with your repair. I have twin 3 year old boys that just broke my
2nd row center seat belt. Just the beginning I guess. That was $50.00.
Their B-Day is coming up, maybe I should deduct from their cash fund. (I did have my company pay for the part)
