problems?

Cons: I've had 2 heater cores go out on mine and some wierd electrical problems with the windshield wipers and door open indicators. Also noisy drive line, traced to the front drive-line joint of the rear drive line (replaced joints). A heater hose corroded due to the "immulsification" in the system, caused by a poorly ground heater hose, that knocked out the heater core, and leaked on the #7 coil rendering it in operable(this is what the dealer actually told me). Wind noise at doors is noticable. Keep in mind mine is a 99' XLT with 67K miles.
No friggin cup holder or console between the front seats like my 97f150.
Poor milage due to AWD.

Pros: Motor has nuts. Mine does not have that sappy 4R70W tranny.

Depending on your location and use of salt on the roads check the bottom of the doors. I have a horrible rust problem. 2000 EB Expy.
