Any problems I should look for (ext warr)/Bad Service Experience
Now that the beast is paid for, she's decided to need to break. First drivers window, 2 weeks ago, glad I took it in because they had to replace motors and the glass (???) because of some brackets. I think they broke it trying to fix it. Then they failed to re wire the mirror & keyless entry and scratched the window molding. So I go in tommorow to get that all straigtened out, hopefully. Today go to clear back window (it's at night so can't see if it squirted) and thought that sounded weird, kinda like water inside the truck, but musta been radio or something. Get home and run it again to see if same sound happens, and sure enoght all along back quarter window & childseat water pouring down. Hopefully that to is covered by warrenty.
So to my question, what else should I test out before the ext warrenty is over?

After saying I had places to go; but I'd wait to find out if it was covered by the warrenty. An hour later I had to go find the service manager "Oh we ordered a moter to be here in about 30min". So I say I guess it's covered? "yes, and will be done in about 45min". So I say what the heck, plop back in a chair and wait. Another hour I again have to find the manager, "Oh we got the part, but found some bent brackets on the window, the only way to get them is replace the glass. It'll be here in about an hour". About this time I'm agaitated by the lack of sharing time & whats happening with me, my wife's getting irritated because we planned on Christmas shopping. So we decide it's just an hour, we'll take their van to one of the stores nearby. So that killed an hour; we get back "we're still working on it, but should be done by lunch". Now I'm upset and tell them we have places to be, soon kids to pickup and this is my only car. Can we get something to drive (not knowing my ext warrenty had rental car coverage). He calls someone and then make a call to enterprise to get me something. I was expecting a Focus, and was going to thow a fit, but got a '05 F-150 SuperCab
First thing to go right. Finally get to spend 2 hrs of the 5 I had planned shopping, get home and still havent heard from the dealer 9 hrs later, I call them. Oh it'll be reay at 6pm (dropped of at 8am and was told it'll be an hour). Not believing that answer either and having to go to work (I work 7p-3a) Tell them I'll get it in the morning. Finally go back, get X, get home. Wife is first to relise mirror doesn't move (we're different heights) & plastic molding is scratched. So I check it out, no move, no signal & no heat. So I had to make another trip to get that reconnected, and because I'm pissed make them replace the plastic piece also. While waiting a week for that part to get in, wife also finds out the keyless doesn't work (glad I'm married and she's observant!) and locked her key in the car twice. So had to get that reconnected also. Also found some odd looking bolts laying on the running board, and behind the drivers seat. Don't know if it's supposed to be holding my door on, or extras that were dropped. And finally after last "fix" get on highway to go home and notice hood looks funny, noticed it wan't closed! Glad it was at least latched, that woulda been nasty at 70 hood flying open!
But I've never had luck at a Ford service, just never this bad. Glad the X doesn't need it often!

Bryan, now is a good time to test everything, just before the expiration of the warranty. You should run windows up and down several times and look for inconsistancy, check 4wd if you have it, run it backa nd forth down the road hard feeling for bad shifts, just overall play wiht everything making sure there is nothing to die on you later. My extended warranty expired and three days later the air ride started acting up.
