Winch mount....will a guard work?

So I bought a warn semi-hidden winch mount kit for my 00 expo. The kit that puts the winch behind the stock bumper setup. Anyway, to allow for some front end protection.....concerned more with highway/crash protection then looks, which would you suggest....a brush guard or push bar or the such? My question is, which will work and not get in the way of the winch line when we are doing a pull. I bought the winch more for the times when all hell goes wrong, so it's not a off road truck. Thanks so much.

From: oak harbor, wa / brookings, or
a brush gaurd is a push bar with adapters attatched to protect the headlites and front fenders. unless your going to pull at a "90"deg angle to the front bumper (bad idea anyway) they should not get in the way. but i would check with warn to see if they've had any mounting point placement issues with other manufacturers gaurds. there are only so many holes on the frame up front.
