ATTN: Please do not wash!!!
ATTN: Please do not wash!!!
.........so I take my 3 month old Eddie to the dealer for an inspection. Not because it was a year old but because it had a May sticker in it. Fine, it was free. Emision exempt because it only has 3800 miles on it. Great. That will be free too. No! Twenty bucks for a sticker. WHAT! Ok. You got me. I am sure it takes a very trained individual to scrape a sticker and leave tons of glue on the window from the old one. NICE! "Did you remove all of the tires to inspect the brakes?", I asked. Yes. Then why did I get charged $19.00 for a rotation? Because you asked us to rotate the tires. Cute. I guess it takes $19.00 to remember NOT to put the tires in the same place. NO they were not balanced.
I did have the foresight to tell them and write down not to wash it. Did they? Yeah they did. Was it a good job?.......Ah....No. I take a lot of time and pride in my washes. I use a battery of materials to clean it. I even go so far as to blow it off with a leaf blower to get all of the hidden water out. What a crappy job. I don't even want to think about what they used to "clean" it. This is depressing. They said sorry and walked away.
I just needed to vent. If anyone else had something like this happen to them let me know. It won't make me feel better but I will know that I am not alone. Thanks.

That really blows. I know what you mean. I HATE to take my vehicles anywhere to have anything done. I am paranoid that something is gonna get messed up. I always wash my own vehicles too. I can just see some idiot spraying acid on the polished wheels on my Screw or something stupid like that.
Our service writer knows not to wash our vehicles, but what I do is leave a nice sticky note on the dash just asking to please not wash or do the wiper test. Sometimes the yard jocky figures it out and we pick up a dirty but clean inside truck. Other times we are left with grease prints throughout. Can't win them all.
When I bought my 150screw used from the local big name dealer the tailgate did not work, the side mirrors was more like glass, the digital odometer is flickering, and the brake rotors were warped. I guess so much for inspections. I got them to fix the mirrors and the tailgate for free. The brakes I noticed a little late, but it was still under partial warantee. I'm fixing the odometer. I'm not going to that dealer again. Thru all this I still love my truck.
