Navigator hard to handle ?

At highway speed my 05 navigator is a handful to drive. The steering is way to loose. Have there been any problems with the variable assist power steering and if so what was the cure. Or is this normal

thanks

I rode in an 05 at highway speed; it was a loaded Navi Premium (Power step rails, Navigation system and all). The guy was drivign it with one hand; two fingers actually...

If it's hard to handle- I'd take it back..

My 2000 Expy drove and felt good (I thought) until we got the 2002 F-150, which felt a lot better in-hand. If felt so nice & tight that when I go tback in the Expy, it felt loose & soupy. So much so, my wife refused to drive the Expedition any more- she said it was too loose..

I know with my 2000 Expy, if you turned off the LLS it also disabled variable assist and it was a handful to drive. Like a '74 Sedan DeVille at 90 MPH wiht 70 PSI in the front tires!!!

No, it's not normal. Mine handles like a "dream".

Hey 360 mile trip today. Freeway speeds great, desert speeds 90+ with a cross wind, still handled great.

My 2003 handles wonderfully compared to my old 2000.

If anything is true, the ride & steering normally improves year after year in a Ford (Lincoln). If it is loose and hard to hold, I'd take it back. Maybe it's over-boosted.
