I bought a '99 Expedition EB 4X4 about 2 months ago, every since every time I start the engine, It beeps 5 sets of 5 times each set, and when I'm driving every thirty minutes it does the same thing, the check engine light is not on and there is no apparent failure in the car, does any one know why?

I think that means that your Airbag warning light in your instrument panel has burned out. Does it light up before you crank the engine?

The Airbag controller beeps out its codes.

Thanks for the tip, yes it turned out to be the air bag, there was no light bulb installed so I out one in, sure enough it stop the alarm but now that air bag light stays on all the time, so I guess I will have to replace the air bags.

 

Well, my guess is that it's a wiring or sensor-related problem. You don't want to replace the airbag$ unnecessarily. This is something that I would have a dealer look into.

 

BTW, who pulled the bulb out? If you purchased the truck from a dealer, they sold you a vehicle with a defective safety system, a practice frowned upon in most states. You might request that they pick up the cost of the repair.
